Since graduating this past May, I have missed the community I experienced on a daily basis in college at North Park University. While I still have glimpses of that community every Sunday at my church, nothing beats the ability to see friends everyday and share a cup of coffee or a meal, even if that meal was in ARA (the dining hall). I knew I had something pretty special at that small, liberal arts school in Chicago, with heaps of swedish pride, but I never realized how much I would miss it. North Park did/i'm sure still does gathering well. One of my favorite practices was partaking in Fika, swedish coffee break, every friday evening, and just having treats, coffee, and good times with friends. The perfect start to the weekend!
All of that to say this: I love gathering around the table! In fact, I would honestly say, I need it. It makes me feel like a fuller, more whole person. It helps give my life that much more meaning and purpose. In our fast paced world, we so rarely take time to just soak in the sacred moment that is: the gathering. It doesn't require endless amounts of prepping and primping, it just requires: the ones you love, something to nosh on, and a table. It could be any table really, a dining room table, a coffee table, a kid's table, heck, even a bar! So in this blog, I would like to invite you, in a sense, to my table. I'll be posting about sacred table moments, recipes that'll make you want to dig in before everyone has arrived (because I love cooking too!), and all else that gathering and noshing entails:)
P.S. I also am starting a small catering business by the same name, so if you are intersted you can check out more information by clicking on the catering tab or right here :)
